Emma Ryan focuses her practice on construction law and commercial litigation. She represents contractors, owners, and subcontractors in a wide range of disputes, including business torts, contract claims, and mechanics’ lien matters. Emma also has experience representing clients in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. In addition to her practice, she has provided pro bono representation to Protection From Abuse (PFA) plaintiffs through Neighborhood Legal Services.

Emma received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she served as Business Operations Manager of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review for Volume 85. During law school, she also worked as a teaching assistant for Legal Analysis and Writing and authored a student note for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review Volume 85.

  • Counsel for a coatings manufacturer in ongoing litigation brought by a specialty contractor concerning industrial coating products used in fiberglass tank rehabilitation work for public infrastructure.
  • Counsel for metal manufacturer in state court litigation arising from a major industrial electrical construction project, involving disputes over alleged project delays, liquidated damages, change order requests, and design-document sufficiency.
  • Represented a Fortune 500 company in the mediation of a commercial sales dispute.
  • Represented a Canadian general contractor and its Italian parent company in an ICC arbitration arising from a contract for the construction of a natural gas pipeline.
  • Represented a landscaping supply company in a dispute with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.Local counsel for a subcontractor in a payment dispute with the prime contractor for unpaid electrical work performed on multiple projects.
